What we are
A listings platform. We do not own, inspect, store, insure, deliver or handle any of the items on this site, and we are not a party to the rental you arrange. The agreement is between you and the other person.
Listings are written by their owners
Every description, photograph, price and specification on this site was supplied by the person renting the item out. Listings are published immediately and are not checked by us before they appear. We remove what is reported and found to break our Community Guidelines, but that is moderation after the fact, not verification in advance.
So: satisfy yourself before you pay. Look at the item, ask questions, and do not rely on a photograph as a guarantee of condition.
What a badge does and does not mean
Some accounts carry a verification badge or a trust score. These reflect limited checks — a confirmed email address, account age, rating history and activity on the platform. They are not a character reference, a credit check, or a guarantee that a person or their goods are as described.
Money does not pass through us
For item rentals, you pay the owner directly — in cash, by UPI, or however the two of you agree. NearbyRents does not collect the rent, does not hold your security deposit, and cannot reverse a payment, because none of it ever reaches us. The same is true of money paid directly to a venue for a slot booking.

Safety, licences and the law
Renting a vehicle, using equipment, or entering someone’s premises carries real risk, and meeting a stranger to hand something over carries its own. Read our safety guidance before you do either.
You are responsible for holding whatever licence, permit, insurance or permission the law requires for what you are renting out or renting in — a driving licence, a vehicle permit, an event licence. We do not check for any of these, and listing something here is not permission to do anything the law forbids.

We do our best to keep NearbyRents running, but it is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular moment, and we may change or withdraw features.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, NearbyRents is not liable for loss, damage, injury or cost arising from a rental arranged through the site, from anything listed on it, or from your dealings with another user. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Your statutory rights under Indian consumer law are unaffected by this page.
